[In Photos] Japan's Tsukiji Fish Market: The World's Largest

I love you, King Crab. Now come into my tummy!

TSUKIJI FISH MARKET
DATE VISITED: April 10, 2017
NEAREST TRAIN STATION: Tsukiji (Hibiki Line)
FAMOUS FOR: Tuna Auctions and being the World's Largest Fish Market

9:00 AM: Quick breakfast at a pop-up eatery inside the market.
Salmon sushi rolls.

Mussel soup.

Grilled salmon meal set.

10:00 AM: Gazing in awe at all the seafood inside the Tsukiji Fish Port Market, where the infamous tuna auctions take place in the wee hours of the morning.

Mmmm, I love salmon.

King crab.

Live king crabs. I'm glad to see them in person while they're inside a tank.

Dried Japanese nori.

Melon juice cans.

Canned and dried fish.

Are those octopuses?

Crowded.

A rather famous cafe inside the fish port.

10:40 AM: Walking around the market, looking for egg waffles and salmon cutlets...and ogling at all the street food in sight.
"Please come to our restaurant!"

A stall selling eggs-in-a-stick which is a popular Japanese street snack.

Dried roots and mushrooms.

A sushi restaurant!

Dried seafood packs.

Cheap, salty senbei.

There are lots of sushi restaurants around these parts.

Kyaa! Grilled fresh tuna.

Crab sticks.

A restaurant famous for their donburi.

Those are HUGE.

Poor little thing. But I wonder how it's taste deep-fried?

A fruit stall.

Ebi tempura for sale.

Street food.

Deep fried!!

Deboned fish.

Cute souvenir sweets in bento boxes.

Mochi!

Corn croquettes.

This shop is all about strawberries!

"Quick, ma! Duck into this alley! There appears to be no tour groups here!"

Fresh vegetables and fruits.

Ah! Here's where we finally found salmon for cheap. We didn't mind that the meat was frozen and pre-cut, anyway.

Our tour of Tsukiji fish market came to a close at 12:45 in the afternoon, and while me and my shopping buddy (my mom) were both famished from the trip, we didn't stop to eat somewhere on the way home because we were very eager to use our apartment's kitchen to sample our pink salmon cutlets in sinigang sa miso soup!
