[In Photos] A Day at a Riverside Fish Market in Dagupan City, Pangasinan
Freshly-caught tuna sold at the Magsaysay Riverside Market, Dagupan City. One-hundred and twenty pesos per kilogram is actually not bad of a deal.

It was drizzling a bit when I accompanied my mom to the fish market. The place was bustling as usual with vendors and patrons alike. Surprisingly, the market was clean as compared to the others I've already been to. Aside from freshly-caught freshwater and saltwater fish, there were also specific sections selling dried fish and other fish products (the pride of Pangasinan being its bangus, packets of it deboned manually are the bestsellers), meat, specialty Filipino native cakes, and vegetables. The only downside is that shoppers always need to be on guard of their belongings and even their purchases, as there are thieving hands about (even vendors have to look after their fish, because some children take some when everything's busy).
Dealers waiting beside the river for more fish from fishermen in their little boats.
This particular riverside fish market is the Magsaysay Fish Market located in downtown Dagupan City in Pangasinan, Philippines. It is right next to the Pantal River.

Freshly-sliced tuna and some flatfish.
Freshwater tilapia.
Crabs.
The red fish is something I'm not entirely familiar with. Might be a snapper.
Mmmm, yummy jumbo prawns.

Shopping in Filipino markets is always a thrilling experience, but my trip to this one was a little more pleasant!
